Heydari injured in first round
Meisam Mostafa Jokar competes in 74kg fiinal in Ali Aliev tournament.
Two times Asia silver medal winner, Meisam Mostafa Jokar, defeated all of his rivals and competes in final against a Russian wrestler.
But six times world and Olympic medalist, Alireza Heydari had a shoulder injury and didn’t continue. Before that Heydari scored one point against Russian wrestler but he couldn’t continue his match.
Also Saeid Ahmadi wrestles for bronze medal in 60kg weight class. He has two wins and one defeat.
Two times world bronze medalist at 84kg, Reza Yazdani, moved to 96kg and after a win over Russian wrestler, was defeated and doesn’t have any chance for medal. Moreover Iman Mohammadian eliminated in 74kg weight class.
Yesterday, two times world champion Dilshod Mansurov from Uzbekistan won 55kg gold medal. 66kg gold medal went to 2007 world silver medalist, Geandri Garzon from Cuba. Athens Olympic champion at 60kg, Yandro Quintana from Cuba competed in 66kg but couldn’t win medal.
Russia captured only one gold medal in first day. Aigum Bagomaev obtained 84kg gold medal and Daghestan-born wrestler Yusup Abdusalamov from Tajikistan was second. Because of injury, he didn’t wrestle in final. Before that, Abdusalamov defeated two times world champion, Sazhid Sazhidov in three periods. Sazhidov didn’t wrestle for bronze medal against Abdul Ammaev from Uzbekistan.
